Event Overview
UltraTrax Gore Mountain is a single-day endurance walking event located in North Creek, New York. Set against the backdrop of the Adirondacks, the course takes participants through wooded slopes and along broad ridge lines. The event is designed for walkers, hikers, and ruckers, with an emphasis on trekking through natural terrain rather than competitive running.
Course Information
The event is based on a 7-mile loop with approximately 1,785 feet of elevation gain per lap. The terrain is varied, featuring creek-side paths, rooty woods, and ridge roads. Participants traverse dense hardwood and spruce forests, cross rocky brook sections, and utilize open ski-trail stretches that offer views of the surrounding valleys. The route is primarily shaded. Participants have a 10-hour window to complete their chosen distance. Available distance options include:
- 7 miles (Level 1)
- 14 miles (Level 2)
- 21 miles (Level 3)
- 28 miles (Level 4)
Participation Details
The event features a professionally timed course with clear signage and trail markings. For an added physical requirement, participants may choose to carry weighted packs of 10, 20, or 35 pounds. Finisher items include a commemorative patch and shirt, with specific medals awarded for those completing the Level 3 and Level 4 distances. The base camp area provides food and beverage options for participants after the walk. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Conservation Lands Foundation to support public land protection. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
