Amy's Adventure Race for the Lake
Amy's Adventure Race for the Lake is a trail running event held at Amy's Park in Bolton Landing, New York. The race takes place within a wooded preserve in the Adirondacks, featuring a landscape of ponds, marshes, and forests. The terrain is rugged and includes approximately 700 feet of elevation gain. Participants navigate trails that serve as critical wetland areas for filtering water within the Lake George watershed.
The event offers several participation options:
- 4.5 Miles: A trail race through the rugged terrain of the preserve.
- 10 Miles: A longer loop course for runners.
- Virtual 4.5 Miles: An option to complete the distance independently between October 3 and October 5.
All in-person participants receive a medal and a raffle ticket for the post-race gathering. An after-party is held at the Bolton Landing Brewing Company, featuring a raffle and refreshments. This social event is open to race participants and the local community. Proceeds from the race are directed toward land conservation efforts within the Lake George watershed, supporting the protection of local water quality and natural habitats.
Registration is managed in tiers, with early entry available starting in October of the previous year. For the virtual event, runners document their own timing and distance via screenshot for validation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
