Turkey Trot 5K & Fitness Walk : Fountain Hills
The annual Turkey Trot 5K Run & Fitness Walk takes place on Thanksgiving morning in Fountain Hills. The course circles the fountain at Fountain Park and begins on Avenue of the Fountains, just east of Verde River Drive (16701 E Avenue of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268).
The event offers two distance options:
- 5K timed run
- 1.5-mile fitness walk
Registration opens July 1. Pricing is tiered: Early Bird (until Nov 1), Standard (Nov 2–15), and Late (Nov 16–25), with reduced rates for participants 12 and under. Pre-registration is required; there is no onsite registration on race day. Registration is handled through Race Roster and can also be completed at the Town Hall front desk; credit cards are the accepted payment method.
Packet pick-up details include an Early Bird Packet Pick Up window and additional packet pick-up days the week of the event. Early Bird registrants may receive shirts and bibs a week before others. Race registration includes a long-sleeved event shirt. All finishers in both the 5K and the fitness walk receive finisher medals at the finish line; medals are distributed only at the finish line.
Awards are presented to the top three males and females in each age category, from 12 & Under through 80+.
Participants are asked to leave pets at home. Parking is available at Town Hall/Community Center and at Plot 208 behind the Avenue of the Fountains businesses; the Town Hall lot will be closed while the race is in progress. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
