Courses use trails within Usery Mountain Regional Park and extend into nearby public lands such as the Goldfield Mountains and Tonto National Forest for the 50 mile route. Terrain includes single track, OHV trails, sandy wash crossings, rocky and exposed sections, and climbs such as the ascent to the Pass Mountain saddle. Several courses pass through cholla forests and the Levee Trail with views of Pass Mountain and the Superstition Wilderness Area.
Aid stations are located every 3.0 to 8.6 miles and provide water, electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit; runners should plan to carry a bottle of water. This is a cupless race, so participants must bring a reusable cup or obtain one on site. Crew and pacer policies vary by distance; pacers are permitted only for the 50 mile event at specified aid stations. Remote drop bags, start/finish drop bag access, parking details including a $10 park entry fee per vehicle as of 1/1/26, shuttle arrangements for some entrants, medical staff based at the start/finish, post race food, and race shirts are provided on event day.
