About the race
The Pass Mountain Trail Runs take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the Trailhead Staging Area in Usery Mountain Regional Park, Mesa, Arizona. The event offers multiple distances on marked desert trails that cross park land and nearby public lands, including sections through Cholla forests, Levee Trail, Pass Mountain and parts of the Goldfield Mountain range. Distances offered: - 50 Mile - 50K - 25K Sonoran Desert Cup - 10K - 5K Course details vary by distance. The 50 Mile route leaves the park and travels through Goldfield Mountain terrain, Bulldog Canyon washes, the Maricopa Trail and the Hawes Trail System before returning via the Pass Mountain Trail.
The 50K and 25K use loops that climb Pass Mountain and include exposed, rocky and steep sections. Courses are marked with orange ribbons, reflective medallions and laminated signs. Aid stations are placed roughly every 3.0 to 8.6 miles and provide water, electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. This is a cupless race so runners must bring a reusable cup or purchase one onsite.
Crew access, pacer rules and drop bag locations differ by distance; pacers are permitted only for the 50 Mile at specified aid stations. Additional event details include live tracking, a $10 park entry fee per vehicle, shuttle and parking arrangements, on-site medical staff and campground facilities at Usery Mountain Regional Park.
