Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - North Idaho
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Coeur d’Alene is a community event that honors first responders and remembers September 11, 2001. The event was created to honor a New York City firefighter who lost his life on 9/11 after strapping on gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
The course is a scenic out-and-back of 5K along the Centennial Trail beside Coeur d’Alene Lake. Day-of packet pick-up is at the McEuen Park Pavilion; pre-race day packet locations are to be determined. Day-of registration opens the morning of the run, though late registrants may not receive an event shirt or guaranteed sizes.
Registration categories and fees listed for this event include adult, first responder and military, youth 13 to 17, and child 12 and under. Registration fees do not count toward individual fundraising totals. Registrations may be transferred to another participant; refunds are not provided.
Participants must wear their bib on the front of their outermost garment. Water is available at the turnaround and at the start and finish. The event is currently not timed and features simple awards, often recognizing participants who run in firefighter or military gear. Emergency medical services and radio communication will be available on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
