Jen McKenna Paddle and Run 6.0
The event is a multisport competition combining paddling and running at Higgens Point in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. It offers two course formats: a short course and a long course. Participants can compete as individuals or in teams.
Short Course
The short course is designed for individuals or two-person teams (one paddler and one runner). The course begins with a paddle section of approximately 1.6 miles around Higgens Point into Blue Creek Bay and back. This is followed by a run of approximately 4 miles along the Centennial Trail, finishing at Higgens Point Park.
Long Course
The long course is a paddle-run-paddle-run sequence with a total distance of approximately 10 miles. It is available for individuals or teams of two or three people (one paddler and one or two runners). In the team format, one person paddles between two separate run legs completed by two different runners. The course uses Blue Creek Bay, the Blue Creek Trail system, and the Centennial Trail.
Awards are presented to the top three men and women in both the short and long courses, as well as to the top team in each category. A post-race gathering includes food and beverages. Proceeds from the event support Companions Animal Shelter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
