Event Overview
The Walk, Run, Read for Literacy event is a 5K run and walk in support of The Literacy Project of North Idaho. All proceeds from the race go directly to the nonprofit's adult literacy and English language programs. This is the event's fifth annual edition.
Location & Course
The event is held at Coeur d'Alene City Park/Fort Sherman Park. The 5K course is an out-and-back route starting in the park and following the Idaho Centennial Trail toward Post Falls. It turns around just before the Highway 95 bridge. Water stations are available on the course. The Kids Dash takes place on a safe, looped course within the park.

The event features several activities:
- Walk, Run, Read 5K (5 km)
- Kids Dash for participants aged 12 and under
- A free registration option for kids aged 6 and under
- A Virtual Run option
- An Annual Book Swap & Sale, where participants can trade a book or buy one for $1
- Games and other activities
Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the 5K. All Kids Dash participants receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
