Troy Turkey Trot
The Troy Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day road-racing event in Troy, New York, founded in 1916. It is listed as the nation’s 12th and the world’s 64th oldest road race and began with six entrants. The event is presented as an annual tradition and includes multiple race formats and community activities.

- 5K - 3.1 Miles
- Grade School Mile - 1 Mile
- Turkey Walk - 1 Mile
The program also includes virtual events and a training challenge. A costume contest runs with categories for Most Unique and Best Thanksgiving costumes. The event supports several local charities, including the Regional Food Bank of NENY and Joseph's House and Shelter.
Registration opens July 1 and entry fees increase by registration date. Example fees listed by cutoff dates are: 5K $30 then $35 then $40; 10K $35 then $40 then $45; School Mile $20 then $20 then $25; Turkey Walk $20 then $20 then $25. Children 14 and under receive a $10 discount for the 5K and 10K. Volunteer opportunities are organized for the race, with donations offered to volunteer groups of ten or more.
