Run the Runway
Run the Runway is a 5K held on the active runways and newly paved taxiways of the Schenectady County Airport. The airport is an active aviation hub with about 50,000 flight operations each year. The 5K uses the same runway that the New York State Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing operates, including their LC-130 "Ski Birds," aircraft equipped to land on Antarctic ice.
Runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages are welcome. Young participants 12 and under may enter a free 1 mile fun run along the main runway.
