Event details

The Trigger Fell Race is a linear fell race from Marsden Cricket Club to a field in Edale village in the Peak District, England. The course length is 33 km (20.5 miles) with 1650 m of climb. The event has a Permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Entries are limited to 250 and all profits are donated to Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team. SPORTident will provide timing and split times for each leg.

Route and safety

The route crosses Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder and includes seven checkpoints, including two trig points. Each runner must visit every checkpoint in order. Runners must arrange their own transport to the start and from the finish. The event is dependent on the Snake Pass being open for traffic to access Snake Summit.

Entry and required kit

Entry is by pre-entry only; entry on the day is not available. Entries are vetted for fell running and navigation experience. Minimum age is 18. A full kit check will take place at registration. Required items include: a full waterproof jacket with hood and waterproof bottoms (both with taped seams), hat and gloves, map (Dark Peak acceptable), compass, whistle, emergency food, shoes suitable for fell running, long-sleeved top, head torch and an emergency survival bag (foil or plastic).
