Event details

The Link Challenge 2026 is a 20-mile trail run or hike held on 21 March 2026 at Burrs Country Park in Bury (Woodhill Road, BL8 1DA). Open registration runs from 24 March 2025 to 15 March 2026. Route, inclusions and kit

The route follows the Village Link and passes through the villages of Nangreaves, Holcombe, Hawkshaw, Affetside, Ainsworth and Greenmount, using trail paths near woodland, landmarks and open meadow. The event includes a finisher neck gaiter, regular checkpoints with aid station food and drink, and secure parking at the start/finish.

Required kit includes waterproof jacket and trousers, spare warm layer, hat and gloves, minimum 1 litre water capacity, reusable cup, charged mobile phone with mapping app, map or Ordnance Survey 287, compass, whistle, survival blanket or bag, first aid kit and personal medicines, suitable trail shoes or boots, personal food, and a head torch or other light source.
