Event overview
The Ultra Loop is an 8-hour looped ultramarathon held at Heaton Park in Manchester (M25 2SW) on March 21st 2026. Hosted by Resolute Running, the event allows participants to run as many 5 km loops as they can within the 8 hours. There is no limit on total distance; each crossing of the start/finish line records a loop split and a final result. Entry fee is £34. Entry includes chip-timed results, live event tracking, a finisher medal and race photography. Participants receive a confirmation email after entry and further information before the event.
Course, facilities and rules
The route is a mixed-terrain 5 km loop around Heaton Park with about 75 m of elevation. It includes park road, woodland trail, the Boating Lake and Heaton Hall, and has some uphill trail sections alongside mostly asphalt paths. The course is not closed to the public, so participants may encounter walkers and dog walkers. The start/finish forms the event village and singular aid station, with bag drop, toilets, water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes from the event sponsor. A coffee van will be on site. The event operates a bring-your-own-bottle policy; cups will not be provided. Under 12s are not permitted; ages 12-15 require parent or guardian contact and attendance.
