The Tri-County Kentucky United Way Spirit 5K
The Tri-County Kentucky United Way Spirit 5K is a certified 5K course that runs through Bardstown, Kentucky. The event takes place on October 10, 2026, with the Nelson County Civic Center (321 South Third Street, Bardstown) used for packet pickup and event logistics. All event proceeds benefit the United Way programs serving Marion, Nelson, and Washington counties.
Registration details list a standard fee of $20 per individual and a family rate of $50 for up to four people sharing the same address. A reduced group rate of $16 is offered for qualifying groups. Registration opens March 13 and closes September 26; registration completed by September 20 is eligible for a guaranteed event shirt. The entry fee increases after the September closing date and shirt availability is not guaranteed for later registrations.
A virtual participation option is available. Virtual participants are not eligible for awards; event swag can be picked up in Bardstown at a later date or mailed to participants for an additional cost.
Awards and participant items include overall male and female awards, top three medals by category for male and female, trophies for first place male and female under age 21, a special award from Heaven Hill Brands for first place winners age 21 and over, and a Spirit Award for the organization with the most participants. The first 150 registered runners will receive a special swag bag.
Packet pickup is scheduled at the Nelson County Civic Center on the day before the race and on race day. The Spirit 5K is part of the United Way Tri-County Trifecta series with two other local 5K events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
