Trackrun PB 5000m Series
Trackrun is a timed 5000m event held on an athletics track at Collingwood Athletics Track in Clifton Hill, Melbourne. It runs as a monthly winter series that lets runners record and compare 5000m performances on the same track across successive rounds. The April round in 2026 is marked cancelled because of track repairs; other scheduled rounds in 2026 include dates in May, June, July, August (TBC) and September.
The event is open to any runner and does not require club membership. It is organised by volunteers and described as low-key and unofficial; results are recorded and made available so participants can track progress over time. Each round has an entry fee of $15 to cover track hire, event costs and insurance. Entries remain open up until each heat starts and heat seed times are communicated to entrants in advance.
Operational details include collection of a bib number token at the finish area, self or group selection of heats based on indicative pace, and a lap-counting approach where the lead runner’s laps are tracked on a board and a bell is rung for the final lap. On completion, runners slide their bib number token onto the results stick in order so results can be compiled and published on the event results page.
