Connor's Run : All of September
Connor's Run is a fundraising event held throughout September that raises funds and awareness for children facing brain cancer. The event is organised by the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation and offers both an in-person Melbourne experience and a global "Your Way Any Day" option for participants anywhere in the world.
The Melbourne event includes a finish-line party on the Yarra with music, DJs, live bands, yoga, on-course entertainment and amenities such as coffee and physio massage at the finish. Participants receive a limited edition T-shirt and a bib; registration packs mailed before mid-August are delivered in time for the month-long participation period. There are water and Gatorade stops approximately every three kilometres and a limited-capacity bag drop that returns bags to the finish area. Prams and wheelchair users are welcome.
Distances offered:
- 18.8 km traditional course along the bay
- 9.6 km birthday distance
- 3 km Little Bird Loop at the finish area
The event records annual participation and fundraising figures; recent totals show several thousand participants and fundraising in the millions of dollars. Participants are invited to write a personal affirmation on their bib as part of the event experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
