Event overview
The Maribyrnong River Run is listed for Sunday September 13, 2026 (to be confirmed) at Footscray Park, Footscray. The event offers multiple distances:
- 21.1 km - half marathon (2-lap course)
- 10 km - run
- 5 km - run/walk
All events are electronically chip timed. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Participants can print a personalised event certificate after the race showing name, distance, overall position, age group position and official finishing time.
Logistics and facilities
Personalised race bibs are available for participants who register by the organiser’s cut-off date. There is a staffed, secure baggage holding area on site. Drink stations are provided on course at approximately every 2.5-3 km, and water is supplied at the finish. The course uses asphalt paths and is described as pram and wheelchair friendly; pram pushers are asked to position at the rear of start waves for safety. The 5 km event is open to walkers; the 10 km and half marathon are intended for participants who will run or jog most of the course and finish within the event cut-off times.
Trophies are awarded to winners in the 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km events. Age group winners receive gold, silver and bronze medals. All age group and overall prize positions are determined by gun time.
