Toughest 10K Galveston
The event is a 6.2 mile road race held as the second race in the Texas Bridge Series. The in-person route begins at the Galveston County Daily News offices, proceeds northbound across the historic Galveston Causeway, loops around Tiki Island, and returns via the same bridge.
Most of the course follows the typical flat terrain of southeast Texas. A distinctive feature of the route is the causeway, which rises 72 feet and has an incline of about 3.5 percent. Runners climb this grade both on the outbound and the inbound portions of the course.
Two participation formats are offered: an in-person running event and a virtual option. Both cover the same 6.2 mile distance. The virtual entry is separate from the live race and precludes participation in the live event for those who register as virtual participants.
