Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Galveston
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Galveston is a themed running event held at Stewart Beach in Galveston, Texas. The event includes multiple distance options, chip timing on selected races, a costume contest before the start, and a post-race rally with music, refreshments, and awards.
The course is staged in park and green-belt settings and may use a mix of paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Aid stations are placed along the course to provide water and on-course assistance. Packet pickup is offered beginning 1.5 hours before the event start. Shirt orders are guaranteed only if requested at least ten days before the event.

- Quarter Marathon: 6.55 miles
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles
- Volunteer then Run: 3.11 miles

The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip timed and include first overall trophies for male and female finishers and standard age-group awards. Age-group awards use gold, silver, and bronze pins across multiple age categories; masters (40+) receive special recognition pins. The costume contest is judged pre-race with a best costume award and prize. Volunteer options include a “Volunteer then Run” entry and nonrunning volunteer roles that offer shirts, medals, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.
