Rise Running Festival - Galveston Ultra Trail
The Rise Running Festival features a series of beach races held along Galveston Island. The main event is a point-to-point 50K ultra that follows the island shoreline, running along miles of open beachfront with continuous Gulf views. The course uses hard-packed sand where available and stays on the beach for the full 50K distance.
The weekend includes several additional distances that start and finish at the same beach festival hub. Aid stations are provided with water, electrolytes, and snacks, and volunteers staff the course. For the point-to-point 50K there is shuttle logistics to the start and a time cutoff. Several events list published cutoffs for completion.
Finish-line services and participant items are consistent across distances: event shirts, finisher medals, chip timing, and a beachside finish festival with live music and food trucks.
Distances offered:
- 50K point to point ultra along Galveston shoreline
- 50K Relay teams of 2 to 5 runners, exchanges approximately every 10K
- Half Marathon along the beachfront
- 10K on coastal sand
- 5K Run/Walk beachfront route
- 5K Ruck with standardized ruck weight guidelines
- 1 Mile Walk family friendly beach walk
- Kids Run free 1K for young runners
The event emphasizes beach running conditions, coastal exposure, and race-day festival amenities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
