Galveston Ultra Trail
The Galveston Ultra Trail is a coastal running event on Galveston Island, Texas, held on October 17, 2026. The event uses beachfront terrain along the Gulf of Mexico and includes a point to point 50K that traverses much of the island and finishes at East Beach.
The course runs along miles of open shoreline with ocean views for much of the route. Surface conditions are beach sand with sections of hard packed sand that are tide dependent. Elevation change is minimal. Aid stations provide water, electrolytes, snacks, and fueling options, and volunteers support participants on course. A shuttle is provided for the 50K point to point format.
Distances offered include:
- 50K point to point ultra
- 50K Relay teams of 2 to 5 runners
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- 10K six miles along the beachfront
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Ruck with standard ruck weight guidelines
- 1 Mile Walk
- Kids Run 1K, free for participants
Cutoff times are set for each distance. The finish area at East Beach includes a festival atmosphere with live music, food trucks, event shirts, and Texas-size finisher medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
