Tollymore Trail Marathon events
The Tollymore Trail Marathon began in 2010 and is held annually in Tollymore Forest Park, Northern Ireland. The event takes place within the Mourne Mountains area and uses trails through forest and riverside settings.
The course terrain includes forest tracks, riverside trails, narrow single-track paths, steep climbs, and varied rugged surfaces. Routes pass scenic rivers, woodlands, and historic landmarks.
Event categories include a range of distances and formats:
- 10 km Race - in aid of Cancer Focus NI
- 10 km Cancer Focus Challenge Walk
- Half Marathon (21 km)
- Full Marathon (42 km)
- Ultra Marathon (approximately 64 km)
- Corporate Half Marathon - teams of 3 with leaderboard and prizes
The Ultra and Marathon are ITRA points events, with the ultra earning 2 points and the marathon earning 1 point. Proceeds from the 10 km race and the Challenge Walk support Cancer Focus NI, funding cancer care, prevention programs, and research. Sponsors named for the event include NeutriLean, Glens of Antrim Crisps, Mourne Mountains Brewery, and Basalt Six, with Basalt Six providing prizes for category winners.
