Event overview
The Turkey Trot 2025 takes place on Friday 26 December 2025. It is organised by B.A.R.F. and is based at Meelmore Lodge, 52 Trassey Road, Bryansford, Newcastle, Down, BT33 0QB. The course follows a clockwise circuit of Slieve Meelmore. The race distance is 7.5 km with 400 m of ascent. The minimum age for entry is 18.
Entry and fees
Entries open on 8 November 2025 and close on 23 December 2025. Online entry fee is £10; entry on the day is £12. Parking at Meelmore Lodge carries a separate charge of £4 payable at the gate. Entries recorded so far: 82 participants. Withdrawals are allowed up to the closing date and are refundable minus £2 to cover costs. If the event is cancelled a refund will be issued minus £2.
Rules, kit and facilities
The race will be held under Athletics NI and FRA rules. Minimum safety kit follows FRA guidance and may be adjusted by the race director depending on conditions. The listed minimum kit includes a waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves, map and compass, and a whistle. Toilets will be available at Meelmore Lodge.
