Course, support and rules
The route is mixed terrain: trail with some rocks and roots, wooded sections, gravel road, and asphalt finishes. Parts of the course include relatively flat asphalt flanked by a grass trail. The trail remains open to the public; the event provides at least two aid stations, a timing mat, and lap sign-in. An indoor bathroom is available at a nearby Texaco and several convenience stores and restaurants are located about 8 miles out on the route. Volunteers staff aid stations and timing; volunteers who work an 8-hour shift receive race swag and free entry to the next year. The race director is on course during the event and has final authority on disqualification. Night running requires a headlamp or reflective gear. Wildlife may include deer and possibly snakes. No refunds; distance upgrades are allowed by paying the difference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
