The Stinger Duathlon
The Stinger Duathlon is scheduled for 28 December 2025 at Newnham Park, Plympton, Plymouth, GB. The event combines trail running and mountain biking with technical sections on both the bike and final run. Distances are approximate and listed as:
- 5 km run
- 20 km mountain bike
- 3.5 km run
Entry is possible as a solo competitor or as a pair where one person completes the bike leg and the other completes the runs. Minimum age is 13 years. No e-bikes are allowed and gravel bikes are not considered appropriate for the course. Trail shoes and a mountain bike are required.
Format, equipment and categories
Participants receive a number board for the bike and a paper number for the runner; the paper number must be attached to the front of the runner. Solo competitors enter transition after the first run lap and must put on a helmet before handling the bike. Competitors are advised to keep belongings in a box, bucket or large bag in transition. Starts may be mass start or wave start depending on entry numbers.
Prizes are planned by age and category. Solo categories include 13-15, 16-29, 30-49 and 50+ with separate open and female awards. Pair categories include open, female and mixed.
