The Stinger Duathlon

Event overview
The Stinger Duathlon takes place at Newnham Park, Plympton, Plymouth. The event is returning after a break of several years. The course consists of the following approximate distances:
- 5 km run
- 20 km mountain bike
- 3.5 km technical run
Competitors may enter as a solo athlete or as a pair, with one person completing all mountain biking and the other completing all running.
Format and practical information
Both the mountain bike and the trail run include technical sections. A mountain bike and trail shoes are required. No e-bikes are allowed and gravel bikes are not appropriate for the course. Minimum age is 13 years. Parking is available in the main event field and toilets are provided.
Numbering and transition procedures are specified: a number board is supplied for the bike (or the bike half of a team) and a paper number must be fixed to the front of the runner. Solo competitors enter transition after the first run lap and must put their helmet on before handling equipment. Competitors should bring a box, bucket, or large bag to contain belongings in transition. Start format may be a mass start or wave start depending on entry numbers.
Prize categories are divided by age groups and gender, with age categories set by age at the end of the year. The next scheduled race date is 28/12/2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
