Devon Coast to Coast Ultra & Marathon
The event follows the Two Moors Way route across Devon, linking Wembury on the south coast to Lynmouth on the north coast. The extended route is published as 117 miles, though organisers estimate the total is closer to 112 miles. The course crosses Dartmoor and Exmoor and briefly enters Somerset.
Distances and event options:
- Devon Coast to Coast Ultra: 112 miles across Devon and two national parks
- Devon 75 km: route from Wembury to Chagford across Dartmoor
- Devon 100 km: route from Chagford to Lynmouth via Exmoor
- Exmoor in a day: marathon stage from West Anstey to Lynmouth
The route is waymarked but contains unmarked moorland sections where navigation is required. GPX files and route maps are available for use with GPS devices and the Outdoor Active app. There are mandatory checkpoints spaced roughly 16 to 31 km apart. Checkpoints provide food, hot drinks at some locations, first aid cover and staffed safety points. Some checkpoints have indoor space for participants and restrictions on crew parking.
All entries include mandatory tracker hire and the organiser operates a safety team and mobile units. A set of mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of participation; kit is checked at registration and may be spot checked on course. Minibus transport to each start is available for booked participants, with no return transport after the event. The event finishes at Lynmouth Esplanade opposite the Exmoor National Park Visitor Centre. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
