About the race
The Devon Coast to Coast event follows a route from the south to the north coast of Devon using established trails. The course begins in Wembury, follows the 17 mile Erme Plym Trail to Ivybridge, then joins the waymarked Two Moors Way, a 100 mile trail that runs from the south of Dartmoor to the north of Exmoor and reaches the sea at Lynmouth. Parts of the route briefly cross into Somerset and return to Devon on Exmoor.
Distances offered include:
- 112 miles Wembury to Lynmouth crossing two national parks
- 75 km Wembury to Chagford with a full Dartmoor crossing
- 100 km Chagford to Lynmouth across mid Devon and Exmoor
- Marathon West Anstey to Lynmouth across Exmoor
The route is waymarked but not always obvious; there are open moorland sections where navigation is required. Route data is available on Outdoor Active and a GPX file will be provided for GPS devices. A Harvey map covering the original Two Moors Way is recommended for reference.
Support arrangements include fully stocked checkpoints with hot drinks and hot food, permission for support teams to meet competitors at key locations on the nonstop event, and mandatory tracker hire included with entry. Transport to each start is available for each distance option, with no return transport after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
