Event overview
The Red Rocks 5K is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Red Rocks Park, 4 Central Avenue, South Burlington, VT 05403. The event distance is 5K. Entry fee is $20; GMAA members pay $5 less. Pre-registration is encouraged and online pre-registration closes the night before the race at midnight. In-person registration is available on race day from 8-9 AM. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers. The race is open to runners aged 12 and older; runners under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pre-registered runners are entered into a raffle and raffle prizes are distributed at bib pick-up.
Course and logistics
The course uses the park trails, which are dirt and gravel with moderate hills through woods. The current course (new in 2022) starts at the main gate near Central Avenue and finishes at the picnic area near the beach. Post-race snacks and water will be provided. Porta-potties will be available near the park entrance and park restrooms will be open. Parking is available at Red Rocks and on Central Avenue; race parking may restrict leaving the park until runners have finished. Awards are given for overall men’s, women’s and non-binary finishers in each age group. A scholarship division (17 and under) awards the top three finishers in each category. GMAA rules prohibit running with a baby jogger or dog, and the use of headphones is strongly discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
