The Peak 50k / Marathon / Half Marathon
The Peak is a trail race held on October 17, 2026, with registration opening April 1, 2026. The event starts at Camp Hual-Cu-Cuish and runs mostly on single track trails that ascend to Cuyamaca Peak in San Diego County.
Course details are provided by section. The initial climb on the 50K and marathon gains 2,200 feet over the first 6.3 miles, then drops about 2,800 feet to the Sweetwater aid station and the marathon turnaround. The marathon return includes another ascent to Cuyamaca Peak for a total elevation gain and loss of 10,000 feet. 50K runners complete an additional five-mile loop that returns to Sweetwater before following the same return route as the marathon. The half marathon follows the same general corridor, climbing Conejos Trail to the peak and then returning to the start area.
Trails and roads used on the course include Milk Ranch Road, Black Oak Trail West, Azalea Glen Fire Road, Conejos Trail, Lookout Road, Burnt Pine Trail, West Mesa Trail, Monument Trail, West Side Trail, Harvey Moore Trail, Pine Trail, Juaguapain Trail, Dyar Spring Trail, and East Side Trail. GPX files and course maps are available for each distance. Aid stations are located at Sweetwater and Cuyamaca Peak with published time cutoffs for each distance.
