The Peak 50k/Marathon/Half Marathon

The event takes place on October 17, 2026. Registration opens on April 1, 2026. The trail runs feature multiple distances: 50K, Marathon, and Half Marathon.

Course Details

The event includes a climb to Cuyamaca Peak, the second-highest point in San Diego County. The course is primarily on single-track trails.

For the 50K and Marathon, the route begins with a climb of 2,200 feet over 6.3 miles. Runners then descend 2,800 feet to the Sweetwater Aid Station. Marathon runners turn around here for the return trip, which ascends back to the peak. The total elevation gain and loss for the marathon route is 10,000 feet. After reaching Sweetwater Aid Station, 50K runners complete an additional five-mile loop before following the same return route as the marathoners.

The Half Marathon course follows the Conejos Trail to the peak and then returns to the start/finish area.

Cutoff Times

Cutoff times are set at various points on the course:

  • Half Marathon: 4.5 hours at the finish line.
  • Marathon: Multiple cutoffs, including 8.5 hours at the finish line.
  • 50K: Multiple cutoffs, including 10 hours at the finish line.

The start/finish location is Camp Hual-Cu-Cuish. The event is a qualifying race for the SoCal Ultra Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
