Anza Borrego Cuyamaca 50 Mile Run
The event is a 50 mile point to point trail run in the Julian, California area. The course covers trails in and around Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and finishes at Stagecoach Trails RV Resort & Campground. Runners have 14.5 hours to complete the course.
The route begins at the Sunrise Trailhead, includes an ascent of Stonewall Peak, follows wooded trails near the lake, and drops down Oriflamme Canyon onto the desert floor toward the finish. The terrain moves from mountain trails into desert landscape.
Most aid stations offer easy access. The race is described as family and crew friendly. The finish location at Stagecoach Trails provides the option to camp, and the organizer will serve a post race meal in the resort dining hall; showers are available at the finish site.
Because the course is point to point, a pre race shuttle is offered for an additional fee to transport runners from the finish area to the start in the morning. There is no post race shuttle. The organizer also offers training runs on the race course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
