The McNeese Cowboy Club 5K Gallop & Kids 1K Round Up Fun Run
This event at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, includes both in-person and virtual options and supports the McNeese Track and Field and cross-country programs. The on-campus 5K is described as a flat, fast loop that goes around the McNeese athletics campus and the main campus.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk on a flat loop around McNeese athletics and main campus
- 1K Kids Cowboy Roundup for children 13 and under; all finishers receive an award
- Virtual 5K Complete a self-chosen course from October 5 to October 10 and submit proof of time
Packet pickup is available at House of Sole, 3113 Ryan Street #3, Lake Charles, and a race day packet pickup location is listed as the MSU Alumni Pavilion, 600 E. McNeese Street, Lake Charles. Performance shirts are provided and are guaranteed for participants who register before Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Awards are issued after results are tabulated and include overall male and female, masters and grand masters, and age-group awards for the 5K; the 1K awards are for all finishers. Registration fees vary by entry period. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable; there are no refunds, deferrals, or bib exchanges.
