No Man's Land Trail Run

No Man's Land Trail Run takes place in Lake Charles, LA at Sam Houston Jones State Park on October 17, 2026. The event offers multiple distances around a roughly 8 mile loop that follows the park perimeter and the Calcasieu River. The 2026 course removes the previous road portion and stays entirely on trail.

The loop uses the Riverwalk Trail, Eagle Scout and Purple Haze Extension, Nature Conservancy Trail, Bailey's Bender, Old Blue, Blue Connector and Cabin Trail, returning along the river to the boardwalk. One loop has about 125 feet of elevation gain and loss, with rolling hills concentrated on the blue trail. Trails include roots, twists, turns, and water crossings with bridges, so footing can be technical. The course is marked with flags and arrows.

Aid is provided at two stations: a fully furnished start/finish pavilion with restroom options, and a remote midcourse station offering water, electrolytes and snacks. Because of the remote location there is no restroom at the second aid station.

Specific rules include pacers allowed only for the 50K and only for the final two loops, one pacer per runner, and a requirement that runners carry their own supplies. Awards go to the top three male and female in each distance and one DFL award per distance. No age group awards. The event offers a default no-medal option and an enamel finisher pin each year. Drops in distance are permitted with prior notification. No refunds, rollovers, or transfers are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
