Race formats and key rules

- 24th mile designated as a fast lap and the minimum distance to receive a medal
Last Man Standing: Participants run repeated 1 mile loops that include about 300 feet of climbing per loop. Each loop must be completed within 20 minutes. Runners repeat loops until only one person remains. The 24th mile is a fast lap with a special prize for the fastest time.
Last Rucker Standing: Ruckers complete the same 1 mile loops with about 300 feet of climbing. Initial allowance is 30 minutes per loop. After 8 hours the allowed time is reduced by 1 minute per loop until it reaches 20 minutes, then it remains at 20 minutes. Male participants must carry 35 pounds and female participants 25 pounds. Weight must be carried in a pack; sandbags or vests are not permitted. Weights will be checked at the start, end, and at random. Ruckers who complete 8 hours receive a medal.
Honor Lap: A single 1 mile loop completed at the participant’s pace. Honor Lap registrations are directed to Northeast Slopes and can be completed while the event is in progress.
