The Magnificent Bastards Challenge
The event in Corinth, VT presents three formats: Last Man Standing, Last Rucker Standing, and an Honor Lap. It is organized by Race Mozey and takes place on a 1 mile loop with about 300 feet of climbing per loop. The course is located at 10397 VT-25, East Corinth, VT.
Last Man Standing uses 1 mile loops with a 20 minute time limit per loop. Participants repeat loops until one runner remains. The 24th mile is the minimum distance to receive a medal and is offered as a fast lap with a special prize for the quickest completion. Runners who register before June 25 are guaranteed custom Race Mozey silkies; later registrants are not guaranteed silkies.
The Honor Lap consists of a single loop completed at the participant's pace. Honor Lap registration proceeds go to Northeast Slopes and participants may check in and run one loop while the event is ongoing.
Last Rucker Standing uses 1 mile loops with a 30 minute time limit initially. After eight hours the allowed time per loop decreases by one minute each loop until it reaches 20 minutes, then remains at 20 minutes for the rest of the event. Male participants must carry 35 pounds and female participants 25 pounds, carried inside a pack. Weight is checked at the start, at the end, and at random during the event. Ruckers who reach eight hours receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
