Krampuslauf

Krampuslauf presents the Central European Krampus tradition in a running event produced by Race Mozey in New England. The description of Krampus notes a half goat, half demon figure that punishes misbehaving children, follows St. Nicholas, and carries a wicker basket with birch branches. In central Europe people dress as Krampus and run through town streets.

The event offers multiple distance options:

  • 5K loop (Holt's side only)
  • 10K loop (Holt's and Winslow sides)
  • 9-hour option to complete as many 10K laps as possible

The course is held at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, New Hampshire. The first 5K uses the Holt's side of the mountain; the second 5K uses the Winslow side. The 10K and lap participants run both sides. Lap participants have a designated drop area at the start/finish.

Finishers in the 5K and 10K receive finisher medals. Runners doing multiple laps receive a specialty pin for each lap and a 50K medal if they reach that distance. The event benefits Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. The listed event date is 12/5/2026 and registration status is noted as opening soon.
