The Haunted Forest Marathon
The Haunted Forest Marathon takes place in Canal Fulton, Ohio on October 25, 2026. The event weekend includes in-person and virtual options and is presented as the sixth annual running of the event. The in-person races start near 123 Tuscarawas St NW in Canal Fulton.

- Marathon 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- 5K 3.1 miles
- Virtual Marathon 26.2 miles
- Virtual Half Marathon 13.1 miles
The course surface begins with the first mile on road; the remainder is on hard packed crushed limestone and blacktop. The full marathon records 57 feet of total elevation gain over the 26.2 mile distance. The marathon is a Boston qualifying course; runners who qualify on race day receive a second medal. In 2025, 18 percent of marathon participants qualified for Boston.
Some race entries list no time limit for the marathon and half marathon. Virtual entries allow participants to run at home, record results, and receive event swag. Awards are handed out on a rolling basis during the morning. The event includes a themed element and a Smash the PR Pumpkin activity for runners who set a personal best on the course.
