The Haunted Forest Marathon takes place on October 25, 2026 in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The event weekend includes in-person and virtual options and presents multiple distance choices for participants.

The course surface begins with the first mile on road; the remainder runs on hard packed crushed limestone and blacktop. The full marathon records a total of 57 feet of elevation over the 26.2 mile distance. Both the marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified (OH24034JHP and OH24035JHP). Course routing for the marathon starts downtown, follows the Towpath Trail south and north with two 180 degree turns, and finishes at St Helena Heritage Park. The half marathon follows the Towpath Trail with one 180 degree turn to return to the same finish park. A new, faster 5K course will be used in 2026.
Awards are distributed on a rolling basis and include overall top finishers, masters and age-group categories across distances. The marathon is a Boston qualifier; the event offers a second medal for runners who qualify on race day and reported that 18% of 2025 marathon participants qualified for Boston.
