The Haunted Forest Marathon Weekend
The Haunted Forest Marathon Weekend is the sixth annual running event held in Canal Fulton, Ohio on October 25, 2026. The event is family friendly and themed, and it features three distance options.
- Marathon: 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles
- 5K: 3.1 miles
The course begins with the first mile on road. The remainder runs on hard packed crushed limestone and on blacktop. The marathon course records a total of 57 feet of elevation gain over the full 26.2 miles. The marathon is a Boston qualifying course; runners who meet the Boston standard on race day receive a second medal. In 2025, 18% of marathon participants qualified for Boston.
Registration for the marathon and half marathon opens October 31, 2025 at 00:01 and closes October 31, 2025 at 23:59. Registration for the 5K opens October 31, 2025 at 00:00 and closes October 31, 2025 at 23:59. Listed registration fees are $65 for the marathon, $55 for the half marathon, and $35 for the 5K. The marathon and half marathon list no time limit.
Awards are handed out on a rolling basis throughout the morning. The 5K uses a new, faster course. The event includes a "Smash the PR PUMPKIN" activity for runners who post a personal best. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
