Run for Mental Health Kansas City
The Run for Mental Health is a community-focused event held at Mill Creek Park on Broadway Boulevard in Kansas City. This event is organized as a small, private group run with participation caps per wave to maintain a specific atmosphere. The run is open to all ages and paces, including walkers. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian.
The event offers several distances for participants:
- 1 Mile
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 13.1 miles (Half-Marathon)
Timing for this event is optional. There are no timing chips provided; instead, runners can choose to track their own progress using various mobile applications or request assistance from on-site coordinators. The race is organized in waves to manage the number of participants on the course.
A swag bag is included with registration and is shipped directly to the runner's domestic US address, eliminating the need for a separate packet pickup. The package contains a running t-shirt, a finisher's medal, a finisher's towel or other giveaway, and a digital training pack. Participants also receive access to online results and a certificate of completion. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual run option is available, which provides the same digital tools and medals upon submission of results.
Charity initiatives are associated with the event, where additional miles logged after the race can contribute to donations for various organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
