Patriots Run overview
Patriots Run is a multi-event running day held in Overland Park, Kansas that honors first responders and military members and remembers lives lost protecting freedoms. The event combines individual and team formats on a measured loop course and incorporates fundraising elements.
The event program includes these race options:

- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Ultra marathon (timed effort)
- Heavy team relay (teams up to 5)

The course uses a 1.5-mile loop. Sample lap structures listed by the organizer include the 5K as two full laps plus 0.1 mile, the half marathon as eight full laps plus 1.1 miles, and the marathon as 17 full laps plus 0.5 mile. Team relays run relay-style on the loop. Heavy team relay teams carry a required rucksack; male teams 35 lb, mixed teams 30 lb, female teams 25 lb. Teams are limited to five members, have a designated pit area, and may use a 10x10 tent. A minimum fundraising or donation of $500 per team is required for relay participation.
Prizes are awarded to top finishers and teams. Packet pickup occurs the day before and the morning of the event at organizer-designated locations.
