The Patriots Run
The Patriots Run is a multi-race event located in Leawood, Kansas, at 6240 Sprint Parkway. Established in 2002 following the events of September 11th, the event is organized to honor and express gratitude toward military personnel, fire departments, police officers, first responders, and their families. The proceeds from the event are used to provide Folds of Honor scholarships to the families of service members who are disabled or have fallen in the line of duty.
The event features several race distances and formats to accommodate different types of participants:
- 5K
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- Marathon (26.2 Miles)
- Individual Ultra
- Team Ultra Relay
Registration for the various distances generally opens in early January and closes in early February, though the Team Ultra Relay registration remains open until the day after the event starts. The race serves as a tribute to those who sacrifice for national freedom and safety, focusing on community support for service-connected families through its charitable contributions.
