Patriots Run : September 2026
Patriots Run is an annual running event held in September 2026 to honor people who run into danger and to pay tribute to lives lost protecting freedoms. The event is based at the Aspiria Campus in Overland Park, Kansas.
The event program includes multiple race formats:
- 5K Run
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Ultra Marathon (timed endurance format)
- Heavy Team Relay
- Light Team Relay
Races use a looped course of approximately 1.5 mile per lap. The 5K is run as two laps plus 0.1 mile. The half marathon and marathon are run as multiple full laps with an added distance to reach the official distance. The individual ultra is an open lap format where participants complete as many 1.5 mile laps as possible within a nine hour and eleven minute window. The 5K and marathon events also list time cutoffs for completion.
Team relays allow up to five members per team, with a minimum fundraising requirement of $500 per team. Heavy teams carry rucksacks that are weighed and tagged; required rucksack weights differ by division. Teams are assigned a pit area and may use a 10 by 10 tent for rest and equipment.
Cash and team awards are given to top finishers and to top teams. Packet pickup and late registration are provided at specified locations in advance of race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
