Patriots Run overview
Patriots Run is a multi-distance running event held on September 12, 2026 at the Aspiria Campus in Overland Park, KS. The event is presented by a 501(c)(3) organization and is framed as a day to honor those who run into the face of danger and to pay tribute to lives lost protecting freedoms. Registration fees are non-refundable, entries are non-transferable, and entries may not be rolled to future years.
Event formats use a repeated lap course and include the following distances and formats:
- 5K: 2 full laps plus 0.1 mile to complete 3.1 miles.
- Half Marathon: 8 full laps plus 1.1 miles to complete 13.1 miles.
- Marathon: 17 full laps plus 0.5 mile to complete 26.2 miles.
- Ultra Marathon: as many 1.5 mile laps as possible within the event time limit.
- Heavy Team Relay: teams up to 5 relay laps on the 1.5 mile course while carrying a rucksack.
- Light Team Relay: teams up to 5 relay laps on the 1.5 mile course.
Timed long distance events use a 9 hours 11 minutes limit and the 5K has a 1 hour 11 minutes cutoff. Heavy team rucksack weight requirements are specified by division. Team participation requires a minimum fundraising or donation amount and teams are provided a designated pit area and may bring a 10x10 tent in approved areas. Packet pickup locations include the Aspiria Campus and a separate pickup for 5K entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
