TimberRidge Adventure Race

The TimberRidge Adventure Race takes place at Kill Creek Park in Olathe, Kansas on September 11, 2027. The course runs across hundreds of acres of trails and prairie grasslands and proceeds rain or shine.

The event offers two formats. The 2 hour race is all on foot and is open to solos and teams; it follows paved trails and off-trail terrain with some brush and possible water crossings. The 6 hour race combines trekking, mountain biking, paddling, and orienteering. 6 hour participants receive pre-plotted topographic maps at packet pickup on race morning. Maps are based on pre-plotted topographic data and teams should understand terrain features and distance measurement. Travel rules are minimal and teams choose their own route and strategy; some checkpoints require a specific mode of travel.

This event is self supported. Participants must carry their own water, food, first aid, and other supplies, and have access only to gear and provisions they carry on their bike or in their pack. Several checkpoints are mandatory transition areas; most are optional so teams may skip some and still record an official finish. Results are based on number of checkpoints completed and elapsed time.
