Event Details
The Cinco De Mayo Run is a small, private group run with participant caps for each wave. It takes place on May 2, 2026, at the Courtney Campbell Trail in Tampa, Florida. The event offers in-person and virtual participation options.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half-Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Family 1 Mile Fun Run
Event Information
The run is described as a "pure run" with coordinators providing support. Timing is optional, with participants able to track their own time using apps; there are no timing chips. Registration includes a swag bag with a running t-shirt (shipped within the US), a finisher's towel or giveaway, a finisher's medal, a digital training pack, online results, a certificate of completion, and an invitation to a local running club. Technical running shirts are available as an optional upgrade.
Race bibs are provided on the day of the event. Packet pickup is not required as participant swag is shipped directly to the address provided during registration. A final update with course maps is emailed the Wednesday before the race.
Waves and Logistics
In-person runs are organized in waves on a first-come, first-served basis:
- Wave A
- Wave B
- Wave C
Late runners can run upon arrival, as coordinators stay for three hours after the first wave starts. The event welcomes all paces and ages, with participants under 18 requiring a guardian.
Virtual Option
A virtual run option is available. Virtual participants can complete their run at any time and place using any tracking device. After finishing, they can submit their results to receive a medal.
Sponsors and Charity
