Event Overview
The Run Juneteenth Day event in New York City is a community-focused run held in Central Park. This event commemorates Juneteenth through a series of run and walk options. Participants of all ages and paces are welcome, though those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
The event offers several distances:
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 13.1 miles (Half-Marathon)
Participation Details
This run does not use timing chips or special equipment. While official timing is not proactive, it is optional; participants can track their own progress using various mobile applications or request assistance from on-site coordinators. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual run option is available, which includes a digital training pack and a medal upon completion.
Swag and Packet Pickup
There is no physical packet pickup required at the venue. Instead, commemorative items are shipped directly to the participant's registered US address. Registration includes a running t-shirt (with an optional technical shirt upgrade), a finisher's medal, a towel or giveaway item, and a digital training pack. Race bibs are provided on the day of the event. To ensure arrival before the race, early registration is recommended, as shirts for last-minute entries may arrive after the event date.
