About the race
Track Night NYC returns to Icahn Stadium on May 1, 2026. The event is an NFHS sanctioned high school program with select USATF club and unattached events, and it also includes a series of open one mile races called Miles After Dark. The meet program lists standard track events and field events for NFHS competition: *100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3000m/3200m, 100m Hurdles, 110m Hurdles, 4x400m Relay, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus,* and *Javelin*. The girls 3000m carries a time standard of *10:50.00* and the boys 3200m a time standard of *9:45.00*; each of those distance events will be limited to one section.
USATF club/unattached offerings include sprints, middle distance, a one mile section called Miles After Dark, long jump, and shot put. A New Balance High School Elite division will accept roughly the top 24 athletes in the 800 and the top 28 in the one mile per gender; athletes who make those fields receive a New Balance race kit. Estimated cutoffs are provided as guidelines and a recent verified race time must be supplied for elite consideration. Entry fees and team caps are specified in the event information, and spectator admission is listed with a general admission price and free entry for children five and under.
The meet will be streamed live on Runnerspace. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
