MLK Jr. Freedom Run - Atlanta
The MLK Jr. Freedom Run is scheduled for January 16, 2027, on the South Peachtree Creek Trail in Decatur, GA. The event is presented as a smaller, private group run with a cap per wave and options for in-person and virtual participation. Participants of all paces and ages may run or walk; minors must be accompanied by a guardian.

Timing is optional. Participants may track time with apps such as Strava, RunKeeper, or Nike Run and submit results for online posting. The event does not use timing chips; coordinators can assist with timekeeping on request. Waves are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and the event operates with a limited-capacity wave system; coordinators remain on site for three hours after the first wave.
Race swag is shipped to the registrant’s US mailing address; race bibs are provided on race day. Standard swag items include a running T-shirt, a finisher’s towel or giveaway, a finisher’s medal, and a digital training pack. Technical running shirts are available as a paid upgrade. Online results and a certificate of completion are provided. The virtual run includes a digital training pack and a mailed medal after submission of results.
