The Bay Aquathlon Series Race 2
The Bay Aquathlon Series returns with a second race in 2026, held at Swansea Bay on Thursday 16 July. The series comprises three dates across the summer with an option to enter the full series: 16 June, 16 July and 27 August. Each race takes place in open water and combines swimming and running.
Distances offered for each race:
- Sprint distance: 750 m open water swim and a 5 km run.
- Super Sprint Plus distance: 400 m open water swim and a 5 km run.
- Super Sprint distance: 400 m open water swim and a 3 km run.
This race has been selected as a Tîm Tri Cymru 2027 qualifier. The opportunity to qualify is available to Triathlon Cymru members with core or above membership. The first place athlete in each five year age group earns a place on the team and no prior intent to qualify is required.
The race start is on the beach adjacent to Secret's Bar & Kitchen. The Recreation Ground Car Park is a short walk from the start and there is additional parking nearby; charges may apply. Event operations include registration, a transition area, a mandatory race briefing, an acclimatisation period and an award ceremony.
