The Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge takes place on 18-19 July 2026. It is located on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Route & Distances
The event offers multiple distances for walking, jogging, or running. Participants can choose from these options:
- 100 km
- 75 km
- 50 km
- 42 km (Marathon)
- 25 km
- 10 km
The 100 km route is a figure of 8, made up of western and eastern loops. The 2 Day 'Daylight' 100 km option splits the distance over both days. The basecamp for the event is located in the grounds of the historic Penrice Castle.
Features & Support
Camping options are available at the Penrice Castle basecamp. There are specific categories for different participants: the Ultra March® option is for walkers aiming to complete 100 km in under 24 hours or 50 km in under 12 hours. The Trailblazerz® option is for faster, competitive runners. A dedicated start time is available for solo challengers wishing to join a group.
Support services include rest stops approximately every 12.5 km, with covered marquees, medical and massage teams, and food and drink. The route is marked and GPS tracking is available via an app. Finishers receive a medal and a finisher's t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
