The BACKYARD Genesis
The BACKYARD Genesis is scheduled for October 31, 2026 in Lake Wales, FL and is organized by Ultra Ultras Events. The event is held as a backyard ultra format: runners must complete a 4.167 mile loop every hour, starting each lap at the top of the hour, and the last runner remaining who completes a loop alone is declared the winner.
Key race procedures are specified in advance. A bell signals the start of each loop. Runners must be standing in the starting corral when the next loop begins; there are no late starts. Once the bell has rung, runners must remain on course and may not receive aid, visit their crew, tent, or vehicle until they finish the loop. The only permitted off-course stop during a loop is for the porta-potty. Between loops runners may receive support from a crew and may use a designated area adjacent to the start/finish to set up a tent, chair, or small personal items.
Organizers will provide some food and fluids during the race, with larger meal preparation available after a runner exits the competition. Entry pricing is listed at USD 174.43. Registration is scheduled to close on Fri, Oct 30 at 11:59 PM ET. There are no refunds; entries may be deferred to the following year or transferred to another event.
