The BACKYARD Genesis
The BACKYARD Genesis is a backyard ultra scheduled for October 31, 2026 in Lake Wales, FL. The event is organized by Ultra Ultras Events. A venue address appears as 14248 Camp Mack Rd, and the event page also notes that the exact location is still TBA.
The format requires runners to complete a loop of 4.167 miles every hour, with a bell signaling the start of each loop on the hour. Each loop must be started at the top of the hour and runners must be standing in the starting corral when the next loop begins to continue. No aid or pacing is allowed while a runner is on course. Between loops, runners may receive support from their crew.
The event continues until only one runner remains. That final runner must complete another loop in the time allowed to be declared the winner; if the last runner does not finish that loop in time, there will be no official finishers. Runners who drop are recorded as DNF and their total distance is captured in the results.
Organizers will provide some food and fluids during the event and larger amounts after a participant finishes. Crews are permitted but not required. The entry fee is listed as USD 174.43.
