About the race
The Jingle Bell Foster Care Pajama Drive 5K and Kids Santa Fun Run is an evening community running event held in downtown Avon Park with race headquarters at The Historic Jacaranda Hotel. The course runs through a mile-long mall decorated with Christmas lights. The event has been held for more than 20 years.
Event offerings include:
- 5K certified route; registration fee $30.
- Children's one block Santa Fun Run; $5, goodie bag at the finish.
The event benefits The Who I Am Foundation, supporting local foster care children and special needs children and adults. On race night organizers collect new pajamas for foster care children to benefit Heartland for Children and Worthy and Known Family Projects.
Special needs and IDD participants are included; special pricing is available and caregivers walking with them may participate at no charge. The event includes participation from Ridge Area ARC and the surrounding community.
Each participant receives a swag bag at registration and a Christmas ornament at the finish line. Race route and length will be certified by HiCo Race Timing prior to the start of the race.
