Lights & Laces 5K
The Surviving the Standard Foundation presents the Lights and Laces Winter Classic on December 12, 2026 at Lake Wailes Park in Lake Wales, Florida. The event takes place along the lighted, paved Lake Wailes Trail beside the water.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 miles 5K Run/Walk, chip timed.
- 100 meters Free Kids Run Fun.
- 3.1 miles Virtual 5K.
Registration opens July 27, 2026. Registration deadlines and fees vary by event: the 5K Run/Walk has a registration fee of $30 and closes October 31, 2026; the Free Kids Run Fun is free and accepts registrations through December 12, 2026; the Virtual 5K has a $30 fee and closes November 2, 2026. Every registration includes a race shirt.
Proceeds directly fund scholarships and leadership development for aspiring public safety professionals across Polk County and beyond. The Surviving the Standard Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Participants may run, walk, or attend to support public safety professionals from law enforcement, fire, EMS, medical, corrections, and dispatch.
