The 25th Hour Endurance Run
The 25th Hour Endurance Run is a 25-hour timed trail event held at Camp Grier in Old Fort, NC, on the last day of Daylight Saving Time. Runners complete repeated laps of a 3.6 mile loop and are ranked by the number of complete laps finished within the 25-hour period.
The course combines single-track trail, gravel, and a grassy loop near the lake. Each lap has about 400 feet of elevation gain. The grassy area by the lake hosts the official aid station and timing tent. There is space along the course for runners to set up personal aid stations and a field available for tent camping.
Amenities include a large, well-stocked main aid station plus a water-only station each lap. The main aid station is located in the tent camping area next to the start and finish. Typical ultra food is provided with additional real-food options around meal times; vegetarian options are available.
Race rules specify that only complete laps count and ties are broken by the elapsed time of the final lap. Runners must return to the course at the same location they leave it. Chip-enabled timing will be used. Pacers are permitted after ten hours of race time. Pets and open fires are not allowed on Camp Grier property; a campfire at the start/finish may occur if weather allows. Participants are expected to pack out their trash.
Awards will include milestone recognitions at 25, 50, and 75 miles and handcrafted awards for top finishers. After July 31, 2026 there are no entry fee transfers or refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
