Pisgah 12 Hour Adventure Race 2026

The Pisgah 12 Hour Adventure Race is a timed, 12 hour navigation and endurance event held at Lake James State Park near the edge of the Linville Gorge in Nebo, North Carolina. The course covers 40 miles and includes a mix of terrain and disciplines: a bushwhacking orienteering course, single track, some road mountain bike riding, and scenic paddling.

Teams of one to four racers travel together on the course. The objective is to collect punches from as many unmanned Check Points (flags in the woods) as possible within the allotted time. Scoring is based on the number of points gathered; ties are decided by the least time used.

This is the final race in the organizer’s series and the seventh year the event is held at the state park. Registration for the race opens on 2025-12-01 and closes on 2026-04-30; the posted registration fee is $150 per racer for the listed categories. The organizer notes that racers should bring lights for night navigation or low-light conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
