Event Overview
The Pisgah 12 Hour Adventure Race takes place at Lake James State Park, located on the edge of North Carolina's Linville Gorge area. This event is described as the final race in a series, marking its seventh year at this location. Teams of 1 to 4 participants must travel together for the entire 12-hour duration.
Course Format
The race involves navigating a multi-disciplinary course to collect punches from unmanned checkpoint flags in the woods. The team with the most points collected in the least amount of time wins. The course includes a bushwhacking orienteering section, mountain biking on single-track and some road sections, and scenic paddling on water.

Required Equipment
Racers are responsible for providing or renting their own canoe or kayak. Each participant must have specific mandatory gear, including a mountain bike (not a road bike), a CPSC-certified bike helmet, and a personal flotation device (PFD) for paddling.
