Fonta Flora 50k and Half Marathon
The event takes place at Fonta Flora Brewery's Whippoorwill Farm in Nebo, North Carolina, with courses routed along the trails and banks of Lake James State Park near Shortoff Mountain and the Linville Gorge. Race options include a 50K, a half marathon, and new 2-person and 3-person relay teams for the 50K.

Course details and limits are provided for each distance. The half marathon has approximately 850 feet of elevation gain, a 3.5 hour time limit, about 12.8 miles of single-track trail and 0.3 miles of pavement. The 50K has roughly 2,400 feet of elevation gain, a 9.5 hour time limit, about 30 miles of single-track, 0.75 miles of pavement and 0.75 miles of gravel.
Relay legs are roughly 13.5 and 18.5 miles for 2-person teams, and 13.5, 12.5, and 6 miles, in that order, for 3-person teams. Top relay teams receive awards in Male, Female, and Co-Ed categories.
Packet pickup is offered Friday evening at the brewery and on race mornings at the start/finish; all runners must check in. Camping is available within about 5 miles at Lake James State Park and hotels are available in Morganton about a 20 minute drive away. Portions of event proceeds fund trail development including the Fonta Flora State Trail. Refunds follow a sliding schedule through September with no transfers or deferments.
