Raptor 5K - Lake Lure
The event is a 5K held at Lake Lure Classical Academy in Lake Lure, NC. The course uses the school cross country layout and mixes grass, paved paths, and trail surfaces. The route begins at the rear of the school behind the Raptor Center, continues through the Dittmer-Watts nature trails and the Lake Lure green space, and returns to the LLCA campus for the finish. The course is not suitable for strollers.
The stated purpose is to run, have fun, and raise funds for LLCA athletics and recreation equipment. A T-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by Sep 19 at 11:59 p.m.
Registration fees are described as follows:
- Student rate for those 18 and under is $15.
- Now through August 15 is $25.
- August 16 through September 19 is $30.
- September 20 until race day is $30.
