About the race

The Thanksgiving Stuffing Stomp is a road running event on November 14 at Hains Point in Washington, DC. The event offers 5k and 10k distances on paved roads that run alongside the Potomac River. The routes are described as flat and suitable for fast times; the 10k uses two laps of the shorter loop.

Points earned at this event count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and also toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers and strollers are welcome.

Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are placed along the courses: two stations on the 5k and five on the 10k at approximate mile markers; some stations will also offer Gatorade. Port‑a‑johns will be available near the start and finish. Packet pickup takes place at the event and participants are advised to arrive about one hour before the event start.

Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age groups from 19 & under up to 70 plus. Live results appear on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Parking is available around Hains Point and the GPS address given is 972 Ohio Dr SW, Washington, DC 20024. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
