Rosaryville Veterans Day Trail Race
The Rosaryville Veterans Day Trail Race takes place at Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The Annapolis Striders organize two trail distances on the park perimeter single-track loop.
The event offers:
- 50K : about 3.25 loops of the 9.5 mile perimeter trail
- 20K : about 1.25 loops of the 9.5 mile perimeter trail
The routes run mostly through deep woods on largely buffed single track with rolling hills and an overall elevation gain around 2600 feet for the 50K. The course is marked with white pie plates and white confidence ribbons. There are two aid stations on the loop and a designated drop bag area a short walk from the start and finish; drop bags are accessible at roughly the 5k, 20k, and 35k points for the 50K.
Field size is limited to 250 participants. Time limits apply: eight hours for the 50K and seven hours for the 20K. Runners must reach the bag drop area by the published midrace cutoff to be permitted to continue the final loop. Race rules prohibit headphones, pets, and baby joggers; pacers on foot are allowed for the final loop. Parking is covered by registration.
Awards recognize the top three men and top three women plus top male and female military finishers in each distance. A post-race gathering includes hot food, fire pits, music, and yard games. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
