Rosaryville Veterans Day Trail Race
The Annapolis Striders organize trail races at Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. The event offers two distances on a 9.5-mile perimeter single track loop that runs mostly through deep woods and meadows.
- 50K (3.25 loops of the 9.5-mile perimeter trail)
- 20K (1.25 loops of the 9.5-mile perimeter trail)
The 50K has a total elevation gain of about 2,600 feet. The trail is largely buffed single track and is described as not very technical, though roots, rocks, and stumps can be hidden by leaves in early November. The course is marked with white pie plates and white confidence ribbons. The Start and Finish are at the Pavilion picnic area, close to the perimeter trail entrance.
There are two aid stations on the course and a designated drop bag area near the Start/Finish with access at roughly the 5k, 20k, and 35k points. Runners must follow published cutoff rules and time limits for each distance. The field is limited to 250 participants. Race rules prohibit headphones, pets, and baby joggers, and allow a foot pacer on the final loop. Awards are given to top three male and female finishers and to top male and female military participants for both distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
